Attention new business graduate students!

Starting next Monday, January 8, 2007, all newly-enrolled graduate business students will receive life-long e-mail addresses from the College of Business Administration! What a deal!

Your new e-mail address is your FirstName.LastName@business.fiu.edu, your user name is your Panther ID, and your password is your date of birth (mmddyyyy)!

This new permanent e-mail address, made possible through an in-kind gift from Hewlett Packard, uses a state-of-the-art Zimbra, web-based e-mail and collaboration suite.

To access your address, type the following in your web browser: http://mail.business.fiu.edu. Then, enter your Panther ID as your user name and your date of birth as your password, as noted above. You’ll have 200mb of storage space, and this address will be yours for life!

You can use Microsft Outlook to use your new address using either IMPA or POP3 protocol…directions can be found at http://business.fiu.edu/technology.

Get ready to compete!

Get ready to compete! Every year, students in the Chapman School take part in the Intercollegiate Case Study Competition sponsored by the University of South Florida. The first year our students participated (2003), they took first place! Starting this year (2006-2007), the winning team will take home a “traveling” trophy to be displayed at their home school for the year.

It’s time to bring the trophy home! Students in all programs in the school are invited to participate and to nominate fellow students in their programs to take part in the competition. The competition will take place from 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007, through 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the University of South Florida. View more details.

Put your classroom learning to the test in a “real world” management context. If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity, please contact your respective program manager or e-mail ellie.browner@fiu.edu (305.348.1232) no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007.

Those of you who have participated in the past: share your thoughts about the experience!
